Today's song = Meet Me in St. Louis
Today's favorite signs:
1) Need directions?
Read the Bible
rent this sign
2) Hit a worker
$10,000 fine
Ironic sighting:
port-a-potty in a cemetery (even King Tut didn't think of that)
I am grateful for:
making it to the gas station at mile 358; we forgot to fill up at the last stop.
Not bad mileage for a 12-gallon tank. Cost of gas in Columbus, OH -- $3.61/gal.
As we left Columbus, OH, this morning, we drove into thunderstorms. The clouds cleared away by the time we entered Indiana and returned again in Missouri. Again, we passed by acres and acres of farmland and several rivers. We are pressing on because, so far, we are really not in vacation mode and eager to just settle down.
We did make one short stop in a state park at Cataract Lake in IL where the water was so high that the park road ended "in" the water. You can see how high the water has risen on the trees.
Truck traffic along interstate 70 is very busy, giving the impression that the economy is still moving.
We spotted another huge reminder of our last cross-country trip:
And passed by this important American landmark:
don't think the Cardinals were home
My favorite sign is enroute to the chiropractor: 'The end is near. You will see GOD.' Very soothing.
ReplyDeletePerhaps we see him every day, but don't recognize him. Guess "the end" may always be nearer than we wish.... KEEP those comments coming. I like knowing I'm in touch and want to foster a free exchange of ideas.
